Bergamot is the sparkling, sophisticated citrus at the heart of Earl Grey tea — and one of the most versatile and beloved top notes in perfumery. Cold-pressed from the rind of the bergamot orange, grown primarily in Calabria, Italy, this essential oil is bright, fresh, and luminously citrusy, with a distinctive floral-green undertone that sets it apart from all other citrus oils.

Our Bergamot is bergapten-free (also known as FCF — furanocoumarin-free), meaning the naturally occurring compound that causes photosensitivity has been removed. This makes it safe for use in leave-on skin applications and sun-exposed formulations without the risk of phototoxic reactions.

In perfumery, Bergamot is an essential opener — lifting and brightening any composition it touches. It blends beautifully with Neroli, Jasmine, Rose, Lavender, Vetiver, Sandalwood, and Patchouli. It is a cornerstone of classic colognes, chypres, and fresh florals alike.

Use diluted only. Recommended dilution: 1–3% in a carrier oil or perfume base.
