Top notes unveil a symphony of fresh ferns and cascading waterfalls, intertwined with the delicate essence of lemon flowers, pink grapefruit, raindrops and white rose petals.  As the fragrance settles, within 10-20 minutes, a heart emerges, revealing the enchanting allure of water lily, the crispness of African violet, a hint of Marsh rose, and the intoxicating embrace of white flowers, all caressed by smooth vanilla and the sultry whispers of West Indian sandalwood.  The base notes linger, a delicate dance of light and spicy toasted coconut mingled with the sparkling warmth of benzoin- a vanilla scented balsamic resin-cherished in the art of perfumery.

About the Blue waterlily -The plant.

 Used in fine perfume making in Ancient Egypt and France and considered a sacred plant in many ancient cultures.

•  Revered by the French impressionist painter Claude Monet, the Cape water lily as we call it here, beautifully graces our natural South African ponds, riverbanks, or lakes, with its delicate pale bluish flowers, that open in the morning and close at dusk.
• 20th century scientific research into the Nymphaceae family, has identified and isolated molecules that have applications in modern medicine (Aporphine & Niceverine) especially as a treatment for obesity.
• Gardeners use the fragrant blue water lily plants to add a romantic touch in water features, big or small.
• The plant roots, leaves, seeds, and flowers have been used in traditional health systems (Ayurveda, Chinese), in sacred ceremonies and in cooking for thousands of years.
• Several “Blue lily” extracts exist on the market that emphasize on the “psychoactive” effects of blue lotus. These are dry material (dry flower petal, seed, seed powders, rootstocks) or concentrated dark sticky types of resins produced to be ingested (teas, drinks) or smoked.
